| Slide Gate Accessories Application Chart | |
| Safety Accessories | Typical Applications |
| Safety
Vehicle Detector: (loop wire not included) |
Used to detect vehicles that are in the path of the gate. Will not allow gate to start closed if activated. Will cause gate to reverse if closing cycle is interrupted by vehicle. |
| Sensitive Gate Edge: | Attaches to edge of gate and is designed to cause gate to reverse if gate contacts an object during closing. Ineffective against moving vehicles; more effective for pedestrian traffic. |
| Photo Electric Eye: | Will not allow gate to start closed if beam is obstructed. Will reverse gate if beam is interrupted during closing cycle. Effective method of detecting obstructions in gate opening. Reflective type can be fooled by poor visibility, "through beam" type is more reliable, but costs more. It's best used for secondary safety. |
| Torque Sensor: | When
an object is encountered by the closing gate, internal sensing devices
reverse the direction of travel. For secondary safety only.
|
| Cold Weather Accessories |
|
| Heater: | Thermostatically controlled heater provides additional protection against cold and damp weather. |
| Weatherstripping Brushes and Snow Scraper: |
Provided to reduce the influence of drifting snow, rain, sand or dust. |
| For Convenience |
|
| Timer to close: | Adjustable timer that signals the operator to close the gate after the prescribed interval. |
| Free
Detector: (wire loop not included) |
The detector signals the operator to open the gate when the presence of any vehicle is detected. |
| Clock Timer: | A seven day timer that can be programmed to open or close the gate automoatically. Useful for regularly scheduled openings such as garbage pick-up. |
| For Access |
|
| Radio Controls: | Wireless transmitters that signal a receiver in the operator to operate the gate. |
| Card Readers: | A device that is capable of reading a "credit card" type of card that, when verified, signals the operator to cycle. |
| Keypad: | A numbered keypad that, when properly addressed, signals the operator to cycle. |
| Keyswitch: | A
simple switch that is closed by turning a key in a lock cylinder, which
in turn signals the operator to cycle.
|
| For Added Security |
|
| Independent
Mechanical Lock: |
For maximum security, additional electric locks can be added as needed. One or more of these locks can be added at the trailing edge of the gate. |
| Cabinet Lock for Cover: | Provides a keyed lock for the operator cover. |
| "CF" Heavy Gauge Cover: | Provides a heavy 10 gauge steel cover to help withstand a physical attack on the operator housing. |
| Lockable
Remote Release Device: |
Allows release of the device that grips the slide gate rail without removing the operator cover (several types available) |
