On Friday, August 11, about 80 attendees representing 43 of Southwest Automated Security’s (SAS) dealer and installers attended a joint Nice/Apollo and HySecurity afternoon training session at the Texas Rangers Globe Life Park in Arlington TX.
Jeff Goodwin and Steve Alsip along with several other SAS employees welcomed their customers, thanked them for coming and threw out the first pitch. Michael Landino, HySecurity’s South Central Regional Sales Manager also thanked everyone for attending and introduced the players from Nice/Apollo, HySecurity, and BD Loops.
Leading-off at 1 pm, Frank Pooley – Nice/Apollo Product Specialist - demonstrated Nice/Apollo’s recent launch of the 936 board and the TITAN linear actuator which comes bundled with a BlueBUS through beam photo eye, OXI/A receiver, 2 INTI remotes and a choice of either a battery charger or solar panel. A quick run through of the setup, including the simple limit adjustment highlighted the ease of installing Nice/Apollo’s latest offering for the residential/farm/rural market.
Brian Dickson – BD Loops – was next up in the batter’s box, presenting Everything You Need to Know About Loops
. From loop phasing, saw cuts, preformed loops, Loop Goop, E-Z Detector and Megohmmeters. Brian kept the attendees interest with techniques and tips to ensure proper installation for reliable vehicle inductive loops.
John Allen - HySecurity Product Manager - with an assist from Daniel Butler – HySecurity Trainer, completed the afternoon’s training, focusing on new products from HySecurity – the leading edge Hy5B vehicle detector, the EMX NIR-50-325 reflective photo eye now bundled with SwingSmart DC and SlideSmart DC operators and new features for the StrongArmPark DC barrier arm operator, i.e. breakaway bracket kill switch and articulated arm with LED lighting.
Also in attendance from Nice/Apollo was Ron Swartz – National Director of Sales, Greg Smith – VP of Engineering, and David Hoel – International Sales and Crash Specialist.
Following the 5 hour training session, all attendees, instructors and SAS folks headed over to the Hyundai Suite in centerfield to watch the Texas Rangers edge out the Houston Astros in the first game of the Silver Boot series. Final score was Rangers 6, Astros 4. It’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out at the old ball game!
